I love this sequined pumpkin! I love the sparkle the sequins add to the pumpkin. And it’s not a boring pumpkin embroidery pattern when you add sequins.
I can see the sequined pumpkins any sort of projects, especially dresses, tops, pants, and even kitchen decor like hand towels, place mats and more. There is so much you could add this sequined pumpkin to.
This embroidery pattern is easy and just needs a few supplies. And I use the chain embroidery stitch, that is my favorite embroidery stitch. But, you can use whatever embroidery stitch you feel comfortable using or like. And I did use embroidery floss to embroider the pumpkin, but I used sewing thread to add the sequins to the pumpkin.
I also used an embroidery hoop for this pattern. The only embroidery project I don’t use embroidery hoops for is cross stitch. Because the fabric is so stiff. But, if you prefer embroidering without a hoop, then you can do that.
Supplies
- Cotton fabric (That’s what I used, but you could also use a different fabric if you want.)
- Embroidery Floss
- Embroidery Needle
- Sequins
- Seed beads
- Sewing thread
- Beading needle
- Scissors
- Embroidery hoop, optional
And here is the pumpkin embroidery template.
And the pumpkin is approx. 4″ wide and 3.5″ tall.
Go!
Step 1: The first thing is to gather you supplies and print out the pattern template.

Step 2: Transfer the pattern to the fabric. I used a heat erasable pen and trace the pumpkin on the fabric, by laying the fabric over the paper and tracing the outline of the pumpkin.

Step 3: Embroider the pumpkin outline. I used the chain stitch for my embroidery, but you could use a different stitch if you prefer.

Step 4: Start adding the sequins to the pumpkin. I use sewing thread and beads to add the sequins. But, you could use a different method.

After you finish adding the sequins, you have a finished sequined pumpkin.
I love how the combination of the orange cotton fabric, embroidered chain stitch, sequins, and seed beads transforms a simple pumpkin design into something extra special.
This would make a fun fall sewing project, or autumn embroidery decoration. You could even make several pumpkins using different colored fabrics and sequins to create a whole collection of sparkly pumpkins!
I even think using this for a design on a hand bag would look really neat.
If you enjoy embroidery and a little bit of sparkle, this Sequined Pumpkin is a fun project to add to your fall crafting list! Happy Fall Crafting!
