Pumpkin spice, sweaters, campfires and falling leaves, all of these things represent Fall (or Autumn if you prefer). And if you’re looking for a new Fall tatting pattern, here is a free Fall pumpkin tatting pattern.
Pumpkins are the most used Fall decorations, so I decided to create a easy pumpkin tatting pattern. These are great for decorating a table, making ornaments out of them or you could even sew the pumpkins on pillowcases, table runners or more.
This pumpkin tatting pattern makes oval pumpkin, but pumpkins can be circles or really any shape you want. And I made my pumpkins in orange with green stems, but pumpkins can be white, red, green, yellow and even more colors.
This tatting pattern is a intermediate tatting pattern. It’s not really hard, but it maybe confusing to a beginner.

Supplies
- #10 Crochet thread in orange
- #10 Crochet thread in green
- Tatting shuttle or needle
- Small crochet hook (optional)
- You can also purchase the ad-free PDF pattern on my Etsy shop Here for a small fee.
And here below is the free Fall pumpkin tatting pattern diagram.
Like I said above I use orange and green crochet thread, but you could use whatever colors you want for your pumpkin. And I did shuttle tatting, but you could also make this pumpkin with needle tatting.
And I used the ball and shuttle tatting method for this pattern.
A finished pumpkin is approx. 4.5″ wide and 4.5″ tall with the stem.

If your pumpkin doesn’t want to lay flat, then you may have to block it. I like to block my tatting by spraying a little water on it and stretching it out. You could also use a rolling pin instead of stretching it.
