Hey everybody, and welcome back to my blog. This free tatting pattern is for a easy heart. This heart pattern is perfect for Valentine’s day.
That’s why I made these hearts in three colors. Red, light pink and hot pink, to me those colors just made the hearts look like Valentine’s day.
This free pattern is an easy tatting pattern. So, I would say that this is a beginner tatting pattern.

Supplies
- Size 10 Crochet Thread
- Tatting Shuttle or Tatting Needle
- Small Crochet Hook (optional)

The finished heart is approx. 3.5″ wide and 3″ tall.
I use the ball and shuttle method of tatting to make the hearts, but you could also make them by needle tatting.

- ds = double stitches
- Ch = chain
- R = ring
- (-) = picot
- (+) = join

Ch: 4ds – 4ds. Connect to the first group of rings you made, cut and tie off the ends and weave them in.
Now, you’ll probably have to block the heart to get it to lay flat and look right. What I like to do to block my projects is to spray the tatting project with water and stretch it out flat, and let it dry on a flat surface.
