Welcome to my new Fall tatting pattern. This new free pattern is a Fall oak leaf tatting pattern.
Leaves are another favorite Fall decoration for many. And you can make these leaves in Fall colors like, red, orange, yellow and brown or you can make these leaves in the regular leaf color, green. For pictures for this post I made one out of all of the five colors I mentioned.
But, whatever color you choose, your leaves will look great. And the leaves will make great table decorations.
You could even use the leaves and the pumpkins from my “Free Fall Pumpkin Tatting Pattern” for decorating pillow cases or table scarves.
This is a free tatting pattern and I would say this is a intermediate tatting pattern, because you will use split rings to make the stem.

Tatting Supplies
- Size 10 Crochet Thread
- 2 Tatting Shuttles or a Tatting Needle
- Small Crochet Hook (optional)
- You can also purchase the ad-free PDF pattern on my Etsy shop for a small fee Here.
And here is the free oak leaf tatting diagram. Some tatters prefer to use a diagram and some like the written pattern, so I have both in my tatting patterns.
The finished oak leaf is approx. 4.5″ long with the stem and 3″ wide at the widest point.
You can use whatever color of crochet thread you want for the oak leaf, but like I said I made these leaves in red, orange, yellow, brown and green.
I use the ball and shuttle tatting method to make the oak leaves and the 2 shuttle method for the stem, but you can also make this patten with needle tatting.
