Christmas is my favorite holiday and here is a new Christmas tatting pattern. This is a free tatting pattern for Christmas lights ornaments.
I also did a Christmas lights garland tatting pattern that you can find Here. I love Christmas crafts and can work on Christmas projects all year round.
And if you want another Christmas ornament pattern, here is a snowflake ornament tatting pattern. “Free Elegant Snowflake Ornament Tatting Pattern.”
You can make these Christmas lights in the colors I did, red, green, blue, yellow, orange, purple and pink. Or, you can make these ornaments in any color you want.
These Christmas ornaments are great for the Christmas tree, especially if you want to make most of your ornaments. But, you could also hang these Christmas lights ornaments on the fireplace or hang them pretty much anywhere you want to decorate.

Making The Christmas Lights into Ornaments.
All you need to do to make these Christmas lights into ornament is to cut the 8″ piece of the black size 30 crochet thread. Hint: you can always use a longer piece of thread if you want your hanger to be larger.
Run the thread through the base of the light bulb. You can run the thread through the light bulb base’s bottom ring.
After you’ve ran the thread through the lightbulb’s base, hold the ends even, wrap the crochet thread over your finger and take the ends thru the loop, and tighten the thread about 1/2″ from the end of the thread to create the knot.
Extra
Now you have a finished Christmas light ornament. You can make these Christmas ornaments in any color and I think using metallic crochet thread would make really pretty ornaments.
And I think that making ornaments out of this pattern and my free snowflake ornament pattern would make a really pretty decorated Christmas tree.
I use size 10 crochet thread for the lightbulb top and size 30 crochet thread for the base of the lightbulb. But, you can use other sizes if crochet thread if you prefer. Just remember that using a different size crochet thread will change the size of the finished project.
Thank you for looking at this free pattern and I hope that you enjoy making the Christmas lights ornament. Be sure to check on my blog often for new patterns and tutorials.
